CSWIP 3.2 is a senior welding inspector certification course. CSWIP Certification schemes are UKAS/Accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, the international standard for personal certification. The certification scheme for personnel (CSWIP) is a comprehensive scheme which provides for the examination and certification of individuals seeking to demonstrate knowledge and competence in their field of operation. The scope of CSWIP includes, among others, welding inspectors, welding supervisors, welding instructors, plant inspectors, under water inspectors, welders and NDT personals.

CSWIP is managed by the certification management board which acts as the governing board for certification in keeping with the requirements of the industries served by the scheme. The certification management board is UK based. All CSWIP boards and committees comprise member representatives of relevant industrial and other interest.

Whom Should Attend the Course?

  • This course is suitable for experienced welding inspectors and quality control staffs
  • Certified welding inspector for a minimum 2 years’ experience
  • 5 years authenticated experience related to the welding inspection duties
  • Above candidates must have a valid CSWIP Level 2(3.1) certification

The Examination Format

Candidates who do not already hold a welding inspection certificate must also complete the full welding inspector (level2) examination in addition to the procedures out lined below

THEORY PART C3(1)Specific welding technology (including audit question:4 questions from 6 time:1 hour 15 minutes.

THEORY PART C3 PART(2)General welding theory, product technology and ndt,30 multiple choice questions, time allowed 45 minutes.

PRACTICAL PART A3(1)Scrutinize and comment on three inspection related documents; time allowed 1 hour.

PRACTICAL PART B3Examination of weld failures. Time allowed 1 hour.

PRACTICAL PART C3Scrutiny and interpretation of a fabrication drawing. Time allowed 1 hour.

PASS MARK FOR ALL IS 70%.

RADIOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION-SUPPLEMENTARY.

EXAMINATION FORMAT:
THEORY PART D3
Standard radiographic interpretation theory, nature and properties of x and gamma rays, photographic aspects,
fundamental aspects of radiographic quality, geometry of image formation, interpretation, 20 multi choice question time 30 minutes.

PRACTICAL PART D3Radiographic interpretation in a number of radiographs.
